Supporting a hunger-free India

Who we are

Brief History

ISKCON’s Food Relief program is the world’s largest vegetarian food distribution effort with an active presence in 65 countries. Since its establishment in 1970, ISKCON, a charitable organization, has been at forefront of delivering food relief in some of the most difficult and dangerous locations around the world be it areas affected by war to natural calamities.

The most recent efforts include Covid pandemic response, Ukraine crisis, floods in Assam, cloudburst in Uttrakhand.

The Mission

The program draws its inspiration from the message of ISKCON’s Founder-Acharya Srila Prabhupada who envisioned that no one within a 10-mile radius of its center should go hungry. With that mission in mind, our team of professional and selfless volunteers have served over 550 crore plates of meals till date.

During the Covid pandemic, ISKCON’s food distribution (or also known as Annadan seva) has benefited millions of people across the world. At the request of several state governments, ISKCON food relief helped migrant workers, police officers, and front-line staff by providing nutritious and fresh meals as per their taste. Since the beginning of Covid pandemic, our team has distributed over 76 crore plates of meals.

ISKCON and its affiliate foundations would like to thank the governments, donors, volunteers, and well-wishers for helping us play our part in combating COVID-19.

All donations made towards ISKCON’s food distribution are tax exempted.

Kitchens

A total of 110 kitchens of ISKCON are spread across cities, towns and remote villages to have a maximum impact. Fresh meals and food kits to the less-privileged sections of our society amidst the lockdown and the aftereffects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each of the kitchens is meticulously planned and maintained to ensure that the travel time between the kitchen and the delivery point is minimum so that the meals are fresh and hot.

A team of volunteers and professionals helps in maintaining the day-to-day operations along with maintaining transparency in procuring and accounting for all the expenditures.

While the challenges are enormous, they can be overcome by the collective effort of each one of us and requires your whole-hearted support.

Voice on the ground

ISKCON members have helped us a lot. They have their own kitchens and they are also partnering with the government.

Arvind Kejriwal
Chief Minister of Delhi

I would like to thank ISKCON for heeding the call of Chief Minister of Maharashtra to help those who are impacted by the lockdown& providing them a meal a day. Immense gratitude for helping in this hour of need.

Priyanka Chaturvedi
Politician

We were starving. ISKCON people are giving us daily meals and if we continue to get some food like this, then we do not have to go back to our villages.

Kusheshwar Singh
Migrant worker from Bihar in New Delhi

Nothing can be more gratifying than being able to provide food to someone. By partnering with ISKCON in feeding thousands of labourers amidst COVID-19 pandemic, Team Adani Foundation has lived by its core Gandhian philosophy of Trusteeship.
